The Worldskills Australia Vocational Education and Training in Schools (VETiS) Competition is a national skill based competition that operates on a two year cycle. In Year 11, students can enter the World Skills Regional Competition in any VET Framework Course. If successful at Regionals, the student is then able to progress to Zone and National Finals.

NSW Training Awards
The NSW Training Awards are conducted annually by Training Services NSW to recognise outstanding achievement in the vocational education and training sector. The Awards honour and reward the achievements of students, trainers/teachers, training organisations, large and medium employers.
NSW Winners* will compete with winners from all states and territories for the Australian Training Awards. (*except the VET in Schools Student of the Year).
The Awards categories
Some of the award categories for the NSW Training Awards are:
- Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Student of the Year
- School Based Apprentice/Trainee of the Year
- VET Trainer/Teacher of the Year
- VET in Schools Student of the Year (NSW Award only)
